Way To Wear a Wig With Natural Hair Hidden
Wigs are a fabulous way of creating a new look without changing your natural hair. However, wearing a wig is not quite as simple as just putting it on your head and rocking it! For those with longer natural hair, it’s important to know how to conceal your hair under a wig, whilst also protecting it.
I. Tips for Making Natural Hair Healthy Under a Wig
Before you get started on your natural hair and try to get it in a style you can hide under a wig, there are a few things you need to remember.
1. Wear a better wig liner (cap)
The cap offers great hair protection from the wig and keeps your hair in place while hiding under the wig!
2. Moisturise and allow your scalp to get air
We recommend that you moisturise your hair prior to wearing a wig. If your hair feels dry, moisturise your hair before going to bed.
3. Never put a wig on wet hair
Hair should always be completely dry before wearing a wig, otherwise, it is a breeding ground for bacteria (and nobody wants that!).
4. Clean and condition
Clean and condition your hair and scalp regularly. even though your hair is under a wig, it’s still important that you wash it.
5. Use hair pins to secure your natural hair in place.
You will usually need 20-30 U-shape pins for short hair and 30-50 or more for longer hair.
6. Prevent Tangling
If wearing a long wig, carry around a wide-tooth comb in order to prevent tangling.
7. Avoid the pressure to your head
Wigs can sometimes give you headaches due to pressure on the temples-try to stick to softer foods to avoid adding to this.
II. Hairstyle Recommendation Under the Wig - If You Want to Perfectly Hide Your Natural Hair
1. Bun to Your Natural Hair
Usually, the best place to hide your hair under a wig is at the nape of your neck, and most wigs have a little extra stretch in this area to accommodate for it. If your hair is long enough, you can simply tie your hair in a bun and throw it under the wig cap, put on the wig and the wig will stretch around the bun. Nice and simple!
2. Braids Hairstyle of Wigs
Having your natural hair in braids is one of the best and easiest ways of hiding your hair under a wig. Although this style is not as flat as other styles, it allows for your natural hair to be protected and allows for easier access to the scalp for cleansing and moisturising.
