So in this guide, we are going to be looking at how to make a bob wig look natural. The first thing you need to do is make sure that the wig you choose to purchase is versatile and very easily.

How to Make a Wig Bob Wig Look Natural

The following are the steps to follow to make sure that your wig looks as natural as possible.

Step 1: Preparing the Wig

The biggest question we get from most of our customers is "how to make my bob wig look natural". Yet, it is important to note that bob wigs are the same as any other wig. Therefore, the first step in the process is to prepare the wig for installation as you would any other long wig.

To begin the preparation of the wig, clip the hairs on the wig from its edges. You do this to avoid getting the hair caught up when attaching the wig to the head. This is particularly important when you will be attaching the wig with adhesive.

If the bob wig you are trying to install is a lace front wig, you may also want to trim the lace as close to the hairline as possible without damaging the hairline.

Step 2: Preparing the Hair

The next step is to get your natural hair ready for the installation of the wig. To ensure that the bob wig will look as natural as possible, you need to ensure that your natural hair is flat and even against the scalp.

One of the best ways to make sure that your hair remains flat and even is to braid the hair in the cornrows. Those with soft curls can simply put their hair in a cap and press it down to flatten it before installing the wig.

Step 3: Preparing the Skin

The next step is to prepare the skin on your head for the installation of the wig. To do that, you can use an alcohol solution and a cotton swab to gently wipe off the oils and swat on your forehead. This step is particularly important if you are going to use adhesive tape or glue since oils and sweat can affect the quality of the adhesive, preventing it from holding the wig in place.

Then it is important to wear a flesh colored wig cap to protect your natural hair. The wig cap must cover all your hair and make sure it is in place by applying the adhesive on the edge of the cap.

Step 4: Applying the Adhesive

One of the best ways to install a bob wig so it looks as natural as possible is to use an adhesive to hold the wig in place. Begin by applying a very thin layer of the adhesive on your whole hairline; from one ear to the back of your head and then to the other ear.

If the adhesive you are using is a soft adhesive, wait until the glue becomes tacky before applying the wig. If on the other hand you are using a hard bond adhesive, you can just apply the wig as soon as you're done applying the wig.

If you choose to use adhesive tape, it is a good idea to use double-sided tape. Begin by cutting the tape into a length that will cover your hairline. Attach the tape to one side of your hairline and press firmly.

Step 5: Attaching the Wig

When using glue to attach the wig, begin by attaching the wig at the hairline in the front and press the wig gently down against the glue to get it to hold. Go around the hairline, pressing the wig into the glued hairline until it is fully attached. If there is any glue after you have attached the wig, wipe it away with a cotton swap dipped in alcohol solution.

If on the other hand you are using adhesive tape to attach the wig, place the wig on your head and line its edges with your hairline. Starting from the center of your forehead, press the wig in place as you go towards the temples and then keep going around the head to the nape, attaching the wig one adhesive strip at a time.

Step 6: Finally, style the Wig as Desired

Once the wig is in place around your head you are now ready to style the wig as desired. Use a brush to gently manipulate the wig into your desired style.

We must however point out that you should wait a few minutes before attempting to style the wig. This is because it can take some time for the adhesive to set and a string bond to be achieved.

If you follow the steps we have laid out above, you will likely create a strong bond that will keep the wig in place. But even more importantly, you will have a wig that looks and feels as natural as possible. This process is not simple and may require some patience. But once you've done it, you can replicate it numerous times. With a virgin human hair bob wig, you can reuse the wig several times and achieve different styles. Just take extra care when cutting the lace if it is a lace front wig and you'll be able to easily fit it to your hairline.
